🩸 Help Us Deliver 30,000 Pads to Those in Need
💌 How can YOU make an impact? Get a #BreakTheStigma Cap! For every cap you buy, 150 organic cotton pads (which supports around 5 months of menstrual care) go directly to people who cannot access healthy period care, right here in Hong Kong.
🌟 Our Goal: To reach our goal of sponsoring 30,000 more organic cotton LUÜNA pads next quarter, we need to sell 200 caps before Jan 1, 2025.
📦 Where do the pads go? They’ll be delivered to our charity partners next quarter, bringing healthy and free period care to those who cannot access or afford it.
Don't forget! Sign up to our newsletter here to ensure you're getting updates on our charity deliveries, so you can see the impact of your purchase.
About Period Poverty:
500 million people lack access to menstrual products worldwide (World Bank) - impacting their well being and ability to participate fully in work, school and society. This is Period Poverty.
Period poverty refers to the lack of access to affordable, safe menstrual products and the necessary knowledge to manage menstrual health. Here in Hong Kong:
-
For 28% of domestic migrant workers surveyed, the cost of menstrual products remains a financial burden (HelpersChoice x LUÜNA Survey 2024)
-
One-third of ethnic minority women in Hong Kong are unable to afford period products (The Zubin Foundation Red Box Project Survey 2020)
- Refugees in Hong Kong survive on a daily budget of just HK$40 and supermarket vouchers don’t cover menstrual care. Women and girls are sometimes forced to use unhealthy and dangerous practices to manage menstruation, like using rags (Refugee Union)
We provide deliveries of organic cotton and reusable period care to registered Hong Kong charities. Learn more about our impact here.
Thank you for helping build a world without period poverty!
