We started with a simple question - do you know what your period products are made of?

Take a closer look at your pad’s ingredients—you might be surprised. Most conventional pads are packed with plastic: from the wrapper to the packaging, and even the top layer—the part that touches your skin.

And if it’s not plastic, it’s often conventional cotton grown with toxic pesticides; chemicals which kill over 200,000 farmers each year, according to the UN.

It was more than a decade of struggling through her periods before our founder, Olivia, realized her recurring yeast infections were being caused by the synthetic and chemical-heavy ingredients in her period products.

After learning about the long-term health implications and environmental damage caused by plastic-heavy period care (traditional pads taking upwards of 500 years to degrade), she launched LUÜNA with the goal of making better organic cotton period care accessible to all.

For over 6 years, we've worked to normalize access to period care in the workplace and schools.

Today, our washroom solutions reach over half a million employees and students everyday across Hong Kong and Singapore. Now, that mission has evolved through the Good Period Alliance—a first-of-its-kind ecosystem helping businesses champion menstrual health with measurable impact.
